羊毛还可以分成很多种，常见的有羊绒、美利奴、羊仔毛，羊绒是从山羊身上梳下的绒毛，质感最好，最保暖，所以羊绒衫的价格最贵，美利奴羊毛比较细长，做出来的衬衫比较薄，质感顺滑，而羊仔毛则比较粗，适合做较厚、保暖好的针织衫。
